Finding our Hotel in Gdansk was no small feat, considering our Russian bus drivers didn't have a clue where they were going! After they stopped the bus twice to ask passing strangers for directions it bacame obvious what the problem was. So, I loaned them the map of Gdansk I bought in Riga and we drove right to the place!

The Baltic Sea is much lower in saline content than the regular ocean. It's also shallow and rather warm. The view from our hotel room was rather pleasant! Our hotel in Sopot was right on the beach. There was a very nice paved promenade that ran a couple of miles both directions from the hotel. We went down to the beach to watch sunset and, like a good Oregonian, Launa Rae grabbed her coat. So, it was only 70 degrees out!
