Riga hospital number 1 (1. Slimnica) was a very large facility across the street from the hotel. I was able to watch patients being unloaded out of the ambulance and wheeled into the main entrance. Those of our group who visited the facility reported the level of care to be similar to Los Angeles County Hospital in the 1950's.
