The Cliffs of Moher
Movie buffs will immediately recognize the Cliffs of Insanity, depicted in the 1987 film "The Princess Bride" . The cliffs are close to 700 feet high in the section we visited. The visitor's center itself is a work of art. It is embedded into the hillside, so 1.) it minimizes its impact on the natural landscape and 2). it doesn't blow away! The weather was just shy of miserable, but probably typical.
