Grand Canyon Tour - Day 3

We left Tonopah at dawn heading for Rhyolite, NV, a ghost town that saw its heyday before 1910. I've photographed Rhyolite extensively in the past, so I didn't concentrate so much on the main features, looking for quirky details instead.

Pictures of Rhyolite. (here are some pictures of Rhyolite I took on a previous visit.)

From Rhyolite we buzzed on down to Furnace Creek in Death Valley. Again, I've seen a lot of Death Valley and have a lot of nice photographs. However, I've never been to Zabriskie Point or Dante's view since I acquired digital camera technology.

Of course, everything to this point was just a prelude to the main event - The Hike. We left Death Valley and headed out for the closest hotel to the trailhead - Peach Springs, AZ, with a quick peek at Hoover Dam on the way.
