Peacock Feather

The peacock is typically a tropical bird. They have become popular as farm pets in Southern Oregon, sometimes existing in a 'wild' state during the summer.

Crater Lake National Park

High in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon stands the remains of one of the most cataclysmic explosions of all time. All that remains is a 15 square mile caldera filled nearly 2,000 feet deep with water. The water, pure rain and snowmelt, is legally marketable as distilled water!

Playing in the Clouds

At over 12,000 feet along Trail Ridge in Rocky Mountain National Park, two children play, oblivious of the grandeur of their surroundings. Oh, to be six again, playing amongst the clouds!

Great Fountain Geyser -Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Yellowstone National Park in Northwestern Wyoming contains more geysers than all the rest of the world combined. The Great Fountain Geyser, in the Midway Geyser Basin, is one of the largest, erupting to a height of up to 200 feet.

Cracks in the Mud - Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Layer upon layer, gentle pastel colors unfold as the stark landscape of the 'bad land' marches on. Each drop of rain carries away another molecule of the primordial silt that blankets the Great Plains, exposing a staggering array of fossilized creatures.

Mosquito Larvae

Hanging by its tail from the surface of a pond, a 'wriggler' takes a breath of air before descending back into the murky depths.
