(my evil twin brother - BatDog)

(05/24/1999)
Take a good look at the picture above.  This is not me.  This is my evil twin brother BatDog.  Remember the cord that was chewed off the lamp in the family room?  HE DID IT.  The strawberry plants on the patio.  NOT ME!  The hole in the carpet - I SAW HIM DO IT!  Please, DO NOT CONFUSE US.  This dog is evil, I tell you, evil and rotten to the core.  Stay away from this dog.  He will bite you.  I would NEVER do these things.  He did it.  Honest.  I swear...

Summer has struck and I am so pleased!  Fresh grass clippings and piles of bark dust everywhere - bark dust smells like something that would be good to eat, but it's just a dry mealy mess when you try to chew on it.  It's a major disappointment.  Oh, I've found something more exciting than tall grass to roll in.  Have you ever heard of ivy?  Whoa!  What a blast!  I'm learning to smile for my pictures.  Don't you think I'm quite charming?  Let me tell you about the big blue ball.  It usually lives in my run.  It is undisciplined and mannerless.  It just rolls around where ever it wants, making noise.  It won't listen to anything I tell it.  The other night we (the ball and I) had a training session.  I snarled and barked at it for half an hour.  It's much better behaved now, as you can see from the pictures.  I am learning about paragraphs, so here's a new one.

My pet people will walk for miles and miles.  We walked over 14 miles the other evening.  That's doggie miles of course.  We went past this place where people hit little white balls with long sticks.  I like balls, but I got suckered into that 'fetch' thing the other day.  I'm trying to be more careful.  I can't resist chasing the ball as it goes by, but if I just walk off and leave it laying there, they give up after a while.  I like to sit in the front yard and watch the other dogs walking their pet people.  There seems to be quite a few wild people in my neighborhood, too.  They just kind of roam the streets without a dog to show them where home is.  I have my people tie me to a stake in the yard so nobody can kidnap me.  Sometimes I sing to the passing people.  They seem to really enjoy it.  Well, that's it for today...
