In the Banquet Hall is the beautiful mantelpiece of Carrara and Siena marble, caved in Italy and presented to Washington by Samuel Vaughan, of London, who also gave the two mantel vases. Other original articles are two silver bracket lamps, the clock, two large flowered vases, Chippendale-type candlestands and four landscapes in oil.
