Grandma's Postcards

P. D.  15 The Painted Desert, Arizona
An uninhabitable desert of multi-colored sands, rock and petrified wood interspersed with fantastic erosions--rolling hills of soft toned colors of yellow and green, whose crests are often topped with black, giving the appearance of having been charred.  Looking down upon it from the rim, your imagination might suggest a huge melting pot used by some might worker of metals--leaving the remnants ever to glitter in the sun.
