The Process
-
Stake out shape with hose
-
Dig hole, level base and top edge
-
Remove roots, rocks, sharp objects
-
Trowel on a 2" layer of damp sand or underlayment
-
Incline sides about 20 degrees
-
Make plant shelves a minimum of 10" wide
-
Place liner carefully, do NOT damage liner
-
Liner calculations - 2D + W + 2 by 2D + L + 2 where:
D=depth in feet
W=Width in feet
L=Length in feet
example:
pond 5 feet wide and 8 feet long and 2 feet deep
2*2 + 5 + 2 = 11 feet
2*2 + 8 + 2 = 14 feet

Build rock shapes with 2 inch foam. Fasten with tie wires

Cover foam with 1" chicken wire & dobbies. Use tie wire to
secure,
being careful not to puncture liner

Place concrete on foam (cement, sand, gravel)

Plaster rock with sand mix (cement and sand)

Fill pond
-
Plumb waterfall
Sit back and have a can of ginger ale.
